For each school of martial arts, there was a different group of monkeys, such as jade, bamboo and ivory. ![]() The Brotherhood also sent its monkey warriors to fight Robin and Nightwing in their own comics, leading many DC characters to become involved in the trials set by cult. Members of the Brotherhood revealed themselves and attacked them, underestimating Hawke's abilities. They all had guns, which they had fired, but they were taken down by melee combat. While he was on a mission, Hawke ran into Batman and investigated a hideout for the Kobra Cult where all of its members had been killed. The leader of the Brotherhood then declared war on the Green Arrow and those like him. In issue #133 (By Chuck Dixon, Dougie Braithwaite, Robin Riggs and Drew Geraci) Silver Monkey was sent to assassinate Hawke, but he was defeated and sent back to his cult. One such enemy was the Silver Monkey, an assassin and member of the Brotherhood of the Monkey Fist. From there on Hawke devoted himself to following his father's legacy and proving his worth as a hero, which naturally brought him many enemies. Queen would eventually sacrifice his life while undercover, leaving his son to take up the mantle of the Green Arrow. It was later revealed by the ghost of Hal Jordan that the duo were father and son. ![]() Hawke decided to go with Queen and became his sidekick. One night, when mercenaries attempted to assassinate Queen, he was saved by Hawke.
